Recipe Roundup
This is an app I designed while teaching myself Sketch. The photos utilized are not my photos.
The Concept
Recipe Roundup is an app that allows users to easily find, store, and share favorite recipes with their friends and families all in one convenient location. Users can upload their personal recipes or save ones they've found online, and then easily cook along with the app, all in the palm of their hand. Find your favorite recipe today!
Login
Users will sign up for Recipe Roundup either by connecting to their Facebook profile or creating an account with their personal email address. Each user can then create a personalized username to log in in the future and connect with other users.
Home Page
Upon opening the app, users will be greeted by a feed of recent posts from other users they follow. From here, they can scroll through the feed, like and comment on posts, and add recipes to their personal “recipe boxes” to refer back to.
Users can also upload new recipes, whether they're from another source or their own personal recipes. If the user found the recipe on another website, they can simply copy and paste the link from the original source into the app. Recipe Roundup will then pull the recipe content and photos from the original source and reformat it for the app. These posts cannot be edited and the original source will be credited underneath the poster's username.
Personal recipes can be uploaded as well. Users can manually add and edit these recipes, and attach photos of their creations.
Recipes
After selecting a recipe, users will be able to view the necessary ingredients and step-by-step instructions to create it, plus a brief description of the item. Recipe Roundup makes it easy to cook and follow along with the recipes by allowing users to interact with the post by selecting ingredients already used, crossing out steps as they are completed, and having a built-in cooking timer.
Explore
Users will be able to search for other recipes and users, or browse recipes by categories such as drinks, breads, pizzas, entrées, and soups.
Profile and Messaging
Each user will have a personal profile page where they can easily access recipes they've stored in their recipe box, find recipes they've liked, and message other users.
